There was a lot of speculation surrounding Breece Hall‘s future with the New York Jets this offseason.

The Jets ultimately shut down the rumors when head coach Aaron Glenn said that he wanted to use all of his running backs this season.

All of them did get a couple of touches, but Hall was by far the most efficient.

As pointed out by Zack Rosenblatt on X, the former second-round pick crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense with one of the most efficient outings of his career:

“Breece Hall averaged 4.74 yards after contact per attempt, his best since Week 17 in 2023 against the Browns. Hall also faced a stacked box 31.6% of the time, per NextGen, which ranked the fifth-highest this week among qualifying RBs. He also averaged 1.47 yards over expected per carry, which ranked fourth. A great game for the Jets RB,” Blatt posted on X.

The fact that he kept doing that despite facing stacked boxes over and over speaks volumes about how well he played in this game.

Hall talked about wanting to make a statement and prove to the Jets that he can be the bell-cow running back they need him to be.

Truth be told, the sole fact that they could’ve considered moving on from him was somewhat surprising, as he’s always been a reliable and efficient tackle-breaker with a perennial big-play potential.

Hall logged 107 rushing yards on 19 carries (5.6 yards per carry):

He also hauled in a couple of receptions for 38 yards, once again showcasing his dual-threat skill set.

The Jets are going to be a run-heavy team to allow Justin Fields to be more efficient.

And while the Steelers might not give up 100+ rushing yards to any player often this season, Hall just proved that the Jets’ best chance to keep the chains in motion and the ball rolling will be to feed him early and often.
