Joe Flacco Makes NFL History With Bengals

Quarterback Joe Flacco has made the most of his opportunity as the Cincinnati Bengals’ starter while Joe Burrow recovers from injury.
The 40-year-old veteran is not viewed as a long-term solution for any franchise, but his leadership and experience have provided stability during a critical stretch of the season.
His recent performances have also placed him in select company within NFL history.
Following the Bengals’ matchup against the Chicago Bears, Flacco reached a milestone that highlighted both his individual consistency and his impact since joining Cincinnati.
“Joe Flacco is the first player to have 200+ pass yards and 2+ pass TD in each of his first 4 starts with a team since Joe Flacco (2023 with Browns)” NFL’s Dante Koplowitz-Fleming shared on X.

Flacco completed 31 of 47 passes for 470 yards and four touchdowns against two interceptions on Sunday.
Despite those numbers, the Bengals fell to the Bears 47-42 as defensive breakdowns proved costly throughout the contest.
The loss dropped Cincinnati to 3-6 on the season, creating a difficult path forward with roughly seven wins needed after the bye week to stay in playoff contention.
Flacco did not dwell on his career-high passing total after the game.
His attention remained fixed on the bigger picture and keeping the locker room focused through adversity.
He also acknowledged the frustration that follows defeats like this one, but emphasized the importance of not letting those emotions linger and weigh down the remainder of the season.
The Bengals face a manageable schedule moving forward, but playoff teams are built on stacking wins and climbing above .500.
Reaching the postseason from 3-6 requires sustained execution over several weeks.
Realistically, winning the AFC North remains a long shot, making every remaining game essential for Cincinnati’s chances.
