Ian Rapoport Reveals Injury Update On George Kittle

The San Francisco 49ers‘ season began just like they spent the previous one: With a star player getting hurt.
George Kittle sustained a hamstring injury in the win over the Seattle Seahawks, and they’ve been secretive about his condition.
With that in mind, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that while the fact that he stayed in uniform was a good sign, the team might want to err on the side of caution with him.
Rapoport also said he will undergo further testing to determine the extent of the injury:
“We will start with their star tight end, George Kittle. Was looking like it was going to be a productive day—four catches, 25 yards. The next thing you know, he is on the sidelines wearing a baseball cap, nursing a hamstring injury. Was quickly ruled out with that hamstring injury. Generally, when a player’s ruled out, that indicates a major injury. Not so sure here. George Kittle’s gonna undergo an MRI, and, certainly, this could be the San Francisco 49ers being cautious, knowing that it is Week 1 of 17, knowing that he is one of the best players. Remained in uniform—maybe that is a good sign,” Rapoport said.

Kittle is one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the game, and he’s an absolute beast when it comes to blocking.
He’s absolutely crucial to what they do on offense, and not having him out there could be a lethal blow.
Then again, he also has a long history of injuries, so they might want to take things slowly with him for the time being.
Brock Purdy didn’t look sharp in his first game under his new contract.
He often tried to force throws and do a little too much, which is usually the case when he doesn’t have all his star players by his side.
He has developed strong chemistry with Kittle, one of the team’s preferred targets in the end zone.
The team will share an update after he undergoes more testing, but given his history of injuries and how delicate hamstrings are, it’s hard to envision him suiting up to face the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
