Trevor Lawrence Gets Honest About His Relationship With Liam Coen

Jacksonville Jaguars fans had tempered expectations of the team heading into the 2025 season.
They are on their third head coach under the Trevor Lawrence era, which has provided a lot of inconsistency at the start of this young quarterback’s career.
Lawrence was said to be one of the best quarterback prospects to come out of college since Andrew Luck, but the personnel changes and roster shakeups have made it difficult for him to showcase what he can really do.
There was some optimism about the new head coach, Liam Coen, and Lawrence seems to like and respect him, as he noted in a postgame interview via FOX Sports: NFL on X.
“It’s really good. The communication is really high. Coach is really passionate, which is something that I’ve noticed ever since he’s been here and I love that about him. He’ll get fired up. He’s honestly brought a little bit of more of that out of me,” Lawrence said.

The Jaguars are 1-1 after their narrow loss to the Cincinnati Bengals this week, a game where Lawrence had some up-and-down moments.
He threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns, but he also had two interceptions down the stretch that made it difficult for them to win when it mattered most.
Lawrence has a lot of talent, the same talent that showed up on tape when he was drafted No. 1 overall.
If he can keep harnessing that and make fewer mistakes, the Jaguars could be a team that sneaks into the playoffs this year, making a splash in the AFC.
Lawrence and the Jaguars have two difficult matchups coming up on the schedule with the San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans, so it will be interesting to see how they fare in those and how their record stands after that point.
