The Los Angeles Chargers are facing a delicate situation.

Notably, they might not be the last.

As reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, second-round WR Tre Harris has officially held out from the team’s training camp.

Saturday marked the last day for rookies to report to training camp, and the No. 55 pick took a stance as he continues to go through a dispute over his contract.

The Ole Miss product might not be the only second-round pick to make this decision.

At the time of writing, only two of the 32 players taken in the second round of April’s NFL Draft have signed their contracts.

The Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns gave WR Jayden Higgins and LB Carson Schwesinger fully guaranteed contracts, setting the table for fellow second-round picks to do the same.

Second-round quarterback Tyler Shough is also reportedly trying to get that kind of contract from the New Orleans Saints.

Harris reported for OTAs and rookie minicamp and participated in drills, but now that he remains unsigned, it seems like he has decided to take things to a whole new level.

He’s the first second-round pick to do this, but with the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Giants waiting until Tuesday for their rookies to report, it’ll be interesting to see if someone else decides to join him.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Chargers deal with this situation, and this could set a strong precedent for years to come.
