Analyst Reveals Troubling Stat For Brock Purdy

If Brock Purdy were to retire today and never play another NFL snap, he would still go down as the best Mr. Irrelevant in league history.

The last pick of the draft has this title for a reason, as the majority of players that go that late, and even in the seventh round, fail to make a name for themselves in the league.

Purdy took the league by storm when he received the opportunity to become the San Francisco 49ers’ starter, and hasn’t looked back since.

His career started so hot that he has maintained a stronghold on the 49ers’ starting job, but his brilliance has taken a troubling turn.

As reporter Grant Cohn recently highlighted on X, Purdy won the first 12 games of his NFL career, which was nothing short of heroic, but since that start, he has gone 15-14.

He has been average in his past 29 starts, staying just above .500 as a starter, which makes some people wonder if he’ll be a viable option for too much longer.

The 49ers have dealt with a lot of injuries on offense over the past two years, so some of this regression is explained by that.

However, the best quarterbacks tend to thrive when their back is against the wall and when they have run out of their top options, so it will be interesting to see what Purdy looks like in 2025 and beyond.

Thankfully, it looks like his top receivers are healthy heading into the upcoming season, which should give him a boost and help start on the right foot.
