Stats Reveal Encouraging Trend For Raiders Offense

It’s the dawn of a new era for the Las Vegas Raiders.
So far, so good.
Geno Smith looked sharp in his debut with his new team, and they didn’t find much trouble getting past the New England Patriots.
While their 20 points aren’t that impressive by today’s standards, a deeper look at the stat sheet shows just how proficient Chip Kelly’s offense was.
As pointed out by Ben Volin on X, four different Raiders receivers averaged at least 20 yards per catch in the win:
“Raiders had 4 receivers average 20 yards per catch. Chip Kelly ran a clinic,” Volin posted on X.

Jakobi Meyers made a strong case to get the contract he’s looking for.
He paced the team in catches with eight receptions on 10 targets for 97 yards.
Second-year tight end Brock Bowers picked up where he left off last season, hauling in five receptions on eight targets for 103 yards before leaving with a knee injury.
He’s not expected to miss time, and with a much-improved passing and play-calling situation, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see him lead all tight ends in receiving yards this season.
Perhaps the only disappointing aspect of the offense was that Ashton Jeanty was held to 38 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries, but the Raiders kept finding ways to move the chains regardless.
This team will be in the mix for a playoff spot all season.
And while Pete Carroll and his offensive coordinator clearly deserve plenty of credit for this turnaround, it’s also time people start giving Geno Smith his flowers as one of the most underrated gunslingers in the game.
