The Los Angeles Rams have one of the most underrated quarterbacks of all time. Matthew Stafford has finally found success after years of struggles with the Detroit Lions – struggles that weren’t on him.

Now, 17 years into his professional career, he may finally get the recognition he deserves. He’s playing at a superlative level, up to the point where some think he should win MVP.

With that in mind, FOX reporter Erin Andrews asked her what it would mean for him to win this award at such an advanced age, sports-speaking. While he acknowledged that it would obviously mean a lot, he also said that it’s all about the love he feels for the game of football.

“It would mean a lot. I just have so much respect and reverance for this game. When you get an opportunity to play good football and be named with some of the greatest players, I pinch myself a lot of times thinking about that,” Stafford said.

Stafford is the type of player who never hesitates to play through injury. That took a toll on his body, and he’s paid the price as he’s gotten older.

Still, he continues to be someone who will never hesitate to put his body on the line to make a play. He’s going to be out there with his teammates if they need him, and you just can tell that this is more than just his livelihood for him; he lives and breathes football.

The Rams made a big bet when they traded someone who was much younger than him and a bunch of draft picks to get Stafford. He led them to a Super Bowl in his very first season with the team.

And, just when it seemed that he was getting closer to the end of the line, he turned back the clock to look like a superstar again. He’s not going anywhere.
